(DALLAS) — The board of trustees for the Dallas County Community College District continues its search process for a new chancellor, who will join the system following the retirement of Dr. Wright Lassiter Jr. at the end of the year.

The trustees, who comprise the executive search committee, are working with the search firm of Greenwood/Asher and Associates Inc., Academic Search, to seek and screen applicants from across the country.

The first round of interviews involving nine preliminary candidates was held in Dallas in August.  Follow-up interviews are scheduled in early October.

A detailed description of the position is posted at www.dcccd.edu/chancellorsearch.

Bob Ferguson, DCCCD trustee and chair of the executive search committee, said, “We are excited that our goal to recommend the next chancellor for the district before the end of the year is on target. We thank everyone for their suggestions, comments and support as we move through this very important process.”
