(DALLAS) — Each of the seven colleges in the Dallas County Community College District will host a free immigration forum presented by Proyecto Immigrante ICS Inc. and the North Texas Dream Team during the months of April and May. Sponsors for the free information forums about Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals — DAPA and DACA — include Proyecto, the North Texas Dream Team, Univision, New Hope Immigration Services and Catholic Charities of Dallas Inc. Representatives from those organizations will be available to provide information and answer questions during each program.

The free information sessions presented by DCCCD and the event’s sponsors represent a collaborative effort to help the immigrant community learn more about DACA/DAPA, including presidential executive orders, who qualifies, what the legal process is and how to encourage beneficiaries of immigration relief to be prepared.

“The DCCCD board of trustees and our chancellor, Dr. Joe May, are committed to working with community partners to serve students,” said Diana Flores, DCCCD trustee. “By hosting these important sessions, we will ensure that students and parents are receiving the correct information and that they know which organizations are available to provide assistance in applying for DACA or DAPA.”

The first information session will be held on Saturday, April 4, at Cedar Valley College, located at 3039 N. Dallas Ave. in Lancaster, from 9 a.m. to noon in rooms M121 and M122. The remaining sessions and dates are listed below:
