When you think of summer, do you see your favorite flip-flops or hear the sound of music from an ice cream truck? Why not make your education part of your summer vision? If you want to get ahead by taking Summer credit classes, register now!

Are you new to college? If so, start the registration process early. You must complete the application, orientation, assessment and advising process before you can register for classes. (Learn more about the admissions and registration process.)

Home for the Summer?

If you’ll be home from college for the summer, take a class at a college of DCCCD and save big bucks! Why pay university tuition rates when you can get the same credit course at your neighborhood community college (Brookhaven, Cedar Valley, Eastfield, El Centro, Mountain View, North Lake or Richland) for just $177 a course for Dallas County residents?

If you already have earned credits from another college or university, here’s how to sign up to take a summer course at a college of DCCCD:

  1. Apply for admission.
  2. Have your college or university mail your most recent official transcript to the DCCCD college you want to attend, or bring it by in person. We also need the scores from all assessment tests you have taken (SAT, ACT, etc.). (Note that some universities include these scores on official transcripts.)
  3. Find the courses you want to take.
  4. Register. (See “How to Register” below.)

See our Summer Transfer Students page for a checklist with tips just for you.

Core classes fill up quickly, so be sure to register early to get the classes you want.

Choose the Summer Term That Fits Your Schedule — or Register for Both

The colleges of DCCCD offer two summer terms: Summer I, which begins Monday, June 8, and Summer II, which starts Monday, July 13.

Note that we also offer Flex Term classes that don’t follow the regular semester schedules.

When to Register

  • Regular registration (open to all students) started Monday, April 27. End dates for Summer term registration vary by class. (You can register up until a class has met once.)

How to Register

  • Register online (if you are eligible — eConnect login required) or
  • Register on campus
Note that dates and times for on-campus registration may vary by college; visit your college’s website for the most current information.

If you are new to the colleges of DCCCD, we strongly recommend that you register in person at the college you plan to attend so you can get information about course prerequisites, the degrees we offer, the Texas Success Initiative (TSI), tuition and other important topics.
