The program is a collaborative effort between DCCCD and Goldman Sachs.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce awarded Dallas-based DHD Films a DREAM BIG Blue Ribbon Small Business Award, which recognizes 100 businesses for their success and contributions to the economy. DHD Films is a full-service video production company that specializes in using video for visual campaigns. Its clients include large businesses and government agencies as well as creative agencies.

“It’s an honor to have been nominated and a dream to have won,” said Hussain Manjee, chief success officer at DHD Films. “The true credit goes to our amazing team of storytellers and our clients, who entrust us to tell their brands’ stories for audiences worldwide.

“Receiving this award is proof for other business leaders that you can put your team members first and still have a healthy bottom line," Manjee added.

Winners of the Blue Ribbon awards will be honored at America’s Small Business Summit in Washington, D.C., in June.

Manjee, a cohort 1 graduate of the Goldman Sachs program, also recently received two bronze Telly Awards. The Telly Awards honor video and film productions.

Multiple Awards for Growing Dallas Firms

Royalyn Reid, president and CEO of Consumer & Markets Insights (CMI), accepted the Woman Business Enterprise Star award. Earlier this year, she also won the Enterprising Woman of the Year award from Enterprising Women Magazine.

CMI is a consulting company that provides its clients with nontraditional marketing strategies. It employs five full-time personnel and up to 20 contractors, all of whom contribute to achieving business as well as community success.

Reid said her company has the metrics to prove her success, but that’s only part of her focus. “Giving back to the community and to our world is equally as important. To me, that’s the whole package — to be an impact player in business and the community and also to make a difference in the lives of others.”

“But I’m just one person,” added Reid. “At CMI, it’s all a team effort. Those awards speak volumes about our individuals and their contributions. That’s what our company is, and it’s also who our team is.”

In addition, Shawn McBride of cohort 3 and Sul Lee of cohort 5 were named Rising Star Texas Super Lawyers. The organization rates lawyers from more than 70 legal practice areas.
