DALLAS — It’s the ultimate definition of cult classic. Theatre Brookhaven is presenting The Rocky Horror Show in the Performance Hall July 13-23. Music, lyrics and book by Richard O’Brien, this tribute to horror and science fiction B movies originally ran for 17 years with almost 3,000 performances in London.

Millions have seen the film version, thrown toast at the stage and screamed along with the midnight crowds. Brad and Janet are newly engaged, but having car trouble. They turn to an old castle to find a phone, but get swept up in the bizarre world of Dr. Frank N. Furter, a transvestite and a mad scientist. They are caught in a series of sexual mix-ups and mishaps that leads to them challenging their own cultural and sexual assumptions with space aliens thrown in to top off the mix.

Directed by Darise Error, with musical direction by Hans Grim and Debbie Pesnell, and choreography by Micki Saba, shows are July 13-15, 20-22 at 7:30 p.m. and July 16 and 23 at 2:30 p.m. in the Performance Hall, Bldg. C. The Rocky Horror Show is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc. Please do not bring real food props or glitter.
