On April 21, Brookhaven College and the Communications Division will host True Stories for the third year in a row. This event welcomes a panel of top editors from Dallas publications, award-winning reporters, photojournalists and best-selling authors. Media professionals attending include:

  • Dave Tarrant, award-winning journalist at The Dallas Morning News
  • Danny Fulgencio, photo editor at Advocate Magazine and contributing photographer at Dallas Observer
  • Christian McPhate, investigative journalist at Dallas Observer
  • Chris Vognar, culture critic at The Dallas Morning News
  • Daniel Driensky, photographer, videographer and co-founder of Exploredinary
  • Sarah Reyes, photographer, videographer and co-founder of Exploredinary
  • Caroline North, culture editor at Dallas Observer
  • Diamond Victoria, clubs editor at Dallas Observer

Attendees are encouraged to bring any questions they have in regards to navigating the current political environment as a journalist, social media's role in reporting, how to pitch an idea to an editor, careers in the industry and any others pertaining to journalism, photojournalism and broadcast media.
