Brookhaven College School of the Arts and Theatre Brookhaven present "An Evening of Tennessee Williams" April 27 – May 7. The trilogy of one-act plays by acclaimed playwright Tennessee Williams includes "The Pretty Trap," "Interior:  Panic" and "I Never Get Dressed Till After Dark on Sundays."

Williams often brings to life characters with complex relationships, sometimes tormented by circumstance or haunted by the past. His settings reflect a character in itself, steeped in southern culture, grace and a tattered elegance mirroring the author's own life experiences through the eyes of a romantic.

"It is rare and exciting to get to see a playwright's process – where he started with an idea and the masterwork it eventually became," said Darise Error, theatre department chair at Brookhaven College.

"The Pretty Trap," a comedy featuring four characters, was the precursor to "The Glass Menagerie."

"Interior:  Panic," precursor to the Pulitzer Prize winning play, "A Streetcar Named Desire," is a drama with a cast of five.

The dark comedy, "I Never Get Dressed Till After Dark on Sundays," is a play within a play.

Join Theatre Brookhaven for an intriguing sampling of short works from the mastery of Tennessee Williams directed by Michael A. Robinson and Bonnie De Passe.

This program contains mature subject matter and mild language.

Performances are scheduled April 27-29 and May 4-6 at 7:30 p.m., with Sunday matinees on April 30 and May 7 at 2:30 p.m. in the Black Box Theatre.

Tickets are free and may be picked up at the Box Office 30 minutes before the show. Reservations are recommended.
