(DALLAS) — The Dallas County Community College District and M.S. Panwar Community and Technical College in India have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will enhance cooperation between both institutions in matters of mutual interest, such as international projects and joint educational programs.

Dr. Joe May, DCCCD’s chancellor, and Dr. Brijender Singh Panwar, president of PCTC, signed the agreement this summer.

Under the MOU, both schools will explore the possibilities of collaborative reviews of curricula; internship opportunities; credit transfers and development of degree pathways; and student exchanges.

According to the agreement, DCCCD and PCTC will examine mutual professional growth and development opportunities for faculty and staff in areas such as leadership development, workforce development, cultural diversity and sensitivity. In addition, the institutions agreed to pursue joint funding opportunities by developing proposals, grant requests and other ways to promote advancement efforts.

The agreement will serve as a general framework for the two institutions to collaborate on future projects.

During his visit to DCCCD, Dr. Singh Panwar toured and held discussions with the district’s staff at Richland, Eastfield and Cedar Valley colleges.
