​Every person has their own style. The same thing goes for career goals. Not everyone wears the same thing and not everyone works in the same industry. 

That being said, this fall's theme for the “Fashion Your Future” Career  was “Fashion Our Way." Guest speakers were invited to speak with students at El Centro College's Center for Design, broadening student's awareness of different careers within the fashion industry. 

The Fashion Promotion class of Fall 2017 hosted the series.


Guest Speakers

The series kicked off on Monday, October 16 with Fashion Coordinator Amy Espinosa from Front Door Fashion. Espinosa profiled her rise to her current position from retail management and marketing. 

On October 26 the series featured Jeremy Hicks, assistant visual merchandise manager for Neiman Marcus downtown. Hicks shared with students a typical day in the life of a retail visual merchandiser. His comments supported the relationship between the visual merchandiser and stylist when Roy Souder joined the conversation to share his role in supporting displays with styling tips.
 
November series began with Robert Alan Torres (pictured left). He described the role of a social media marketing manager for the wholesale level of the fashion industry. Torres works for the Pam Kramer & Associates showroom in the Dallas Market Center and is a graduate of El Centro’s Fashion Marketing Program. 

On November 7, Style Editor and Executive Producer Gianna Madrini (Global Fashion News) spoke to students about her reporting on fashion trends, new designers and beauty. 

On November 9, the final speaker in this series, Personal Stylist Tiffany Maxfield, shared her transition from college student to individual stylist helping create personal fashion images.
