Fine Art Gallery Presents

"Studio/Active: Advanced Student Exhibition"

 

The H. Paxton Moore Fine Art Gallery at El Centro College announces "Studio/Active: Advanced Student Exhibition," running now through December 6. “Studio/Active” is the annual exhibition of advanced visual fine art student work. Seven student artists have been chosen from our studio program, representing the best from the advanced art studio courses at El Centro.

Media submitted include figure drawing, painting, printmaking, fiber arts, digital imaging, and mixed media sculpture. The goal of this exhibition is to foster professional practices in the work of our advanced fine art students, and as such, they will each prepare artist statements and a short gallery talk for the reception.

 

Student artists in this year’s exhibition include:

  • Francisco Gonzales - Digital Media
  • Alana Henry - Fiber Arts
  • Star Fraga - Jewelry/ small metals
  • Ellen Koerber - Fiber Arts
  • Janet Gamez - Life Drawing
  • Marshall Byrd - Life drawing/ print making
  • Jazmine Hartfield - Drawing
  • Yulisa Buendia - Drawing


A gallery talk by the student artists will take place at the reception this Thursday, November 16 at 4:30 p.m. in Room B120.

Gallery hours are Monday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Thursday from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Gallery will be closed November 23-26 for Thanksgiving.
