Two student members of Eastfield’s English Honor Society (Sigma Kappa Delta) are placed finalists in SKD’s national writing contest: Caitlin Piper in Short Fiction and Alicia Oberlachner in Poetry. Winners will be announced on March 31, at the annual Sigma Tau Delta/Sigma Delta convention, held this year in Louisville, Kentucky. As placed finalists, Caitlin and Alicia will each receive an award certificate, prize check (amount depends on whether they place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd), and publication in the national SKD literary journal, Hedera helix.
This achievement is also special because both Caitlin and Alicia are the FIRST members of Eastfield’s SKD Psi Beta chapter to ever place on the national SKD level.
