Join us in the festivities as Brookhaven College celebrates four decades of supporting student success and enhancing growth in the community. Since the college opened in 1978 with just 3,503 students, it has expanded in structure and stature as the college of choice in the region for students of all ages to realize their dreams. This fall we welcomed more than 13,000 credit students with more than 2,400 taking noncredit classes.

The Brookhaven College 40th anniversary celebration kicks off Oct. 11 with an arts reception recognizing our Faculty Show in the Forum Gallery and the opening of our fall Theatre Brookhaven production, "The Laramie Project." The cast includes former student performers from each of the four decades of our history for this special show.

On Oct. 12, Brookhaven school spirit shines as we celebrate student athletics. Between a double header of Bears Baseball at noon and Soccer at 6 p.m., come out to tailgate with the teams. It's a party with food, music, and lawn and carnival games like giant plinko, cornhole and pluck-a-duck for the kids, and of course prizes.

We're inviting our community to wrap it all up Oct. 13 and take a step back into the 70s with drive-in movie night. Pack up the whole family for an evening with Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear and more in this family classic, "The Muppet Movie." Bring your own food, beverages and blankets to sit. Make it a picnic and just hang out with us. We'll have popcorn so you can get that real movie experience. The fun starts at 7 p.m. on the lawn in front of Parking Lot P3.

When the curtain comes down and we return to the 21st century, remember there is always something new to learn and experience at Brookhaven College. We are growing and making changes because we don't just want to meet your expectations – we want to exceed them.
