Starting this fall, students can earn industry-recognized manufacturer certificates, learning from experienced technicians through job placement and training at Nissan/Infiniti dealerships. The NTTA/ITTA program offers tuition reimbursement incentives for graduates who become full-time employees at Nissan/Infiniti dealers.

The curriculum includes academics, automotive system theory, and Nissan-/Infiniti-focused service and hands-on automotive diagnostic procedures. All NTTA/ITTA students will be authorized to perform warranty repairs at Nissan and Infiniti dealers once training is complete.

To kick off the new program, Brookhaven played host to 50 Dallas/Ft. Worth area Nissan and Infiniti dealership representatives on Aug. 9 to share an overview of the partnership, tour the automotive facility and learn about the Brookhaven automotive training program.

"Brookhaven has some of the most engaged faculty and staff in the automotive industry," said John Norlington, Sewell Recruiting and Associate Development. "The industry needs manufacturer training. General programs are too general. Brookhaven's program keeps a good flow of technicians coming to dealers."

Qualified automotive technicians are in high demand and a key objective of the training partnership is to provide an ongoing supply of qualified technicians with work experience for Nissan/Infiniti dealerships.

The NTTA/ITTA program allows students to earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree as well as certifications for chassis service technician, electronics and climate control technician, engine repair and performance technician, and transmission service technician. Additionally, all Brookhaven automotive programs require successful completion of on-the-job cooperative work experience.

The automotive program at Brookhaven College is ASE certified with a 100 percent job placement rate for graduates. In addition to Nissan/Infiniti, Brookhaven College Automotive Technology partners with Ford, GM and Subaru.
