DALLAS—Learn about human trafficking, the warning signs and how you can help stop it at "Tracking the Traffickers" March 21 from 1:30–4:30 p.m. at Brookhaven College presented by the African Cultures Club.

Human trafficking is a global crisis. More than 40 million men, women and children were victims of modern day slavery in 2016, according to the World Labour Organization. For every 1,000 people around the world, 5.4 are victims and one of every four victims is a child.

Attend the community resource fair featuring Mosaic Family Services, UNICEF and Brookhaven College Police from 1:30-2:30 p.m. in the Performance Hall Lobby.

Guest speaker, Fatima Rasul, provides insight into survivors of human trafficking and immigrant survivors of abuse followed by a Q&A session from 2:45-3:30 p.m. in Room B240. Rasul is an outreach specialist with Mosaic Family Services. Her efforts extend throughout North Texas where she provides training and speaks with healthcare professionals, students, teachers, law enforcement and the public.

Attendees may participate in a community service project to write letters of support for victims of human trafficking in partnership with UNICEF from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Performance Hall Lobby.

This event is free and open to the public. For additional information, email Winifred Clarke at wClarke@dcccd.edu.
