(DALLAS) — Both candidates running for a seat on the Dallas County Community College District’s board of trustees for District 7 will participate in a community forum on Wednesday, April 11, at Cedar Valley College and on Wednesday, April 18, at El Centro College.

Both forums are open to the general public, voters and DCCCD employees and students.

The Cedar Valley College forum will be held at 11 a.m. in room M233 in the M Building. Cedar Valley is located at 3030 N. Dallas Ave. in Lancaster.

El Centro’s forum will be held at 7 p.m. in room 100 of the C Building; the college is located at 801 Main St. in downtown Dallas.

The two candidates for the District 7 seat are Charletta Rogers Compton, current chair of the DCCCD board of trustees, and Dr. Micheal Jackson, a retired El Centro College administrator.

JL Sonny Williams is running unopposed for the District 1 seat on DCCCD’s board of trustees.

Two other forums were held earlier this month at Eastfield and Mountain View colleges. All forums were organized by DCCCD’s Faculty Association.
