Installing Respondus Lockdown Browser
Respondus LockDown Browser is a special web browser that locks the testing environment in eCampus. If the instructor requires that a test be taken in Respondus LockDown Browser, you will need to:
- Go to the Respondus LockDown Browser download page.
- Install Respondus LockDown Browser.
Installing lockdown browser. To install lockdown browser, start any web browser, go to the unique download link provided to your school. The link may be provided by your instructor, or it may have been posted inside your course. [The download link for Dallas College is above.] When you first see the webpage, you may want to review the brief video which explains the basic features of lockdown browser and why your school is requiring it for your exams.
After viewing the video click the Install Now button. The browser will start the download to your computer. Once the file has downloaded, start the lockdown browser installer. The first step is to select the language. In this example we'll choose English. You will be prompted to accept the license agreement, then click Next.
After a brief period of time, you will be prompted to finish the installation. Click Finish when the installation is complete. An icon will appear on the Windows desktop. Double click on the icon. Windows will prompt you for permission to run the program. Click Yes.
You are now ready to log into your course to take the exam.
