Following this pathway will help you earn an AS degree with a Field of Study in Nursing, which will increase your chances of transfer to bachelor’s-level programs at UT Arlington. Although there may be several options to fulfill certain requirements for the associate’s degree, please note that this pathway lists the specific courses leading to this bachelor’s degree. All plans can be modified to fit the needs of part-time students. This is not an official degree plan. Refer to catalog for official degree requirements. You must receive a GPA of at least 2.00 on all college-level course work. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. Certain courses for this program are only offered at the Brookhaven Campus, El Centro Campus, Mountain View Campus and North Lake Campus. Contact your advisor for information.

  • ENGL 1301 – Composition I This is a (CB 010) Core course. Must earn a grade of “C” or higher.
  • HIST 1301 – United States History I This is a (CB 060) Core course.
  • BIOL 1406 – Biology for Science Majors I This is a (CB 030) Core course.
  • MATH 1342 – Elementary Statistical Methods This is a (CB 020) Core course. Must earn a grade of “C” or higher.
  • PHED 1164 – Introduction to Physical Fitness and Wellness This is a (CB 090) Core course.

SEMESTER 2 (Total Hours: 14)

  • ENGL 1302 – Composition II This is a (CB 010) Core course.
  • HIST 1302 – United States History II This is a (CB 060) Core course.
  • BIOL 2401 – Anatomy and Physiology I This is a (CB 030) Core course.
  • CHEM 1406 – Introductory Chemistry I (Allied Health emphasis) There are several options to fulfill this requirement. Contact your academic advisor for a specific list. This is a Field of Study course.

Please note: Transfer admissions to UTA requires a minimum 2.25 GPA on all academic coursework; grades of D or lower do not transfer. Students who successfully complete the core curriculum at Dallas College as noted in this pathway plan before enrolling at UTA will be considered core complete if certified as such by Dallas College; core complete students will not need to take coursework to complete UTA’s core curriculum.
