Dallas College Board of Trustees Seeks Interested Individuals to Fill Board Vacancy

The Dallas College Board of Trustees is seeking to fill vacancies for Districts 2, 4 and 6.

The vacancies were created in District 6 following the planned retirement of Trustee Diana Flores and announced resignation of Trustee Philip Ritter in District 2.

The vacancy in District 4 was created after Trustee Bravo announced her resignation due to no longer residing within the district, making her ineligible to continue serving as the Dallas College trustee representing District 4.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for appointment to the Dallas College Board of Trustees, an individual must:

  • Be a citizen of the United States.
  • Be at least 18 years of age on the date of appointment.
  • Be a qualified voter.
  • Have resided continuously in the State of Texas for at least 12 months and within the applicable trustee district for at least six months immediately preceding the date of appointment.
  • Meet all other qualifications required by Texas law and Dallas College Board policy.

The selected candidate must maintain residency within the trustee district for the duration of the appointment and be available to attend regular board meetings and official college functions.

Term of Appointment

The Board will appoint an individual to serve until the next Regular election of Trustees to be held in November 2027. At that time, voters will elect a trustee to serve the remainder of the unexpired term, as provided by Texas law.  The next regular election cycle will take place November 2027.

Application Process

Individuals interested in being considered for appointment, or members of the public wishing to nominate a qualified candidate, should submit the following:

Completed application materials for Districts 2 and 6 must be submitted to the Dallas College Board Relations Office no later than 4:30 p.m. on July 31, 2026.

Completed application materials for District 4 must be submitted no later than 4:30 p.m. on August 7, 2026.

Applications received after the deadline will not be considered. The Board anticipates reviewing applications, conducting candidate interviews, and making an appointment at a future public meeting in accordance with applicable law and Board procedures.
