We know that everyone starts their college journey from a different place, and that's exactly why we're here to help you build the skills you need to succeed.
Build A Strong Foundation
If you need to strengthen your math, reading, or writing skills before jumping into college-level courses, we've got you covered. Our developmental courses are designed to help you feel confident and prepared for what comes next.
- Math preparation (DMAT courses) - From basic concepts to college algebra readiness
- Reading skills (DREA courses) - Building comprehension and critical thinking
- Writing development (DWRI courses) - From sentence structure to essay writing
- Integrated reading and writing (DIRW courses) - Combining skills for academic success
Please note: Not all courses are available at every campus, but we'll help you find the right fit for your schedule and location.
How Do I Know What I Need?
Before enrolling in college-level courses, you'll take a quick assessment to see where your skills are right now. Think of it as a starting point, not a judgment. If the assessment shows you'd benefit from some skill-building first, we have courses to get you where you want to be.
These courses help you meet Texas Success Initiative (TSI) requirements while also building the confidence and skills that will serve you throughout your college experience and beyond.
