Dallas College at Forney

 

Attention welding students! The Spring 2022 registration deadline has been extended for welding (WLDG) classes in the Dallas College at Forney program.

Registration for these classes​ will now close on Jan. 21, 2022.

If you add one or more of these sections to your Spring class schedule, please notify David Edwards at davidedwards@dcccd.edu so that your tuition waiver can be applied.

Are you a Forney resident or For​ney ISD student?

You can attend Dallas College classes right in your neighborhood with Dallas College at Forney. Both the Forney High School and North Forney High School campuses serve as satellite locations of Dallas College with college-level courses available to everyone.

Earn Your Basics or a Degree

You can take your Core courses, complete a college certificate or finish a two-year associate degree. Whatever your educational goals, Dallas College at Forney can help. Also, for those looking to earn a bachelor’s degree, credits are designed to transfer. Many Forney residents choose to transfer credits to Texas Tech University (TTU) and can complete their bachelor’s degree without ever leaving Forney.

 
 

Discounted Tuition Rates

Discounted tuition rates are provided through a special partnership between Dallas College and Forney ISD (FISD). Forney residents pay in-county tuition rates for Dallas College courses held at Forney ISD campuses (or earmarked as Dallas College at Forney sections) as if they were Dallas County residents. FISD student tuition to attend Dallas College courses is waived.

There are a variety of career pathways offered through Dallas College at Forney, and that list continues to expand to meet industry and workforce needs.

People at Dallas College at Forney

Currently more than 400 Forney high school students earn college credit in over 40 course sections each semester.

But they aren’t the only ones. As of 2021, community members of all ages are also heading to Forney’s high school buildings for college-level courses. This includes current Dallas College students, many of whom happen to live in Forney. In fact, most welding and HVAC students attending Dallas College Eastfield Campus (in Mesquite) also choose to attend classes at the Dallas College at Forney locations.
