Once you apply for admission,
the next step is to determine if you meet TSI requirements.
Texas Success Initiative (TSIA2)
TSIA2 is a state-legislated program designed to improve student success in
college. Part of the program is an assessment to determine your basic skills
in reading, mathematics and writing.
TSI Exemptions
You can find out more about TSI exemptions and waivers in the Dallas College catalog. You must take the TSI (or be exempted from
taking it) before you can register for courses that have a TSI prerequisite
requirement. Please contact a success coach for more information.
Pre-Assessment Activity (PAA)
Before completing the TSIA2 assessment, you are required to complete a pre-assessment activity.
TSI Prep Program
This is the perfect bridge for first-year students coming to Dallas College. The free prep program is designed to help incoming students prepare for the TSI by
reviewing exam content and test taking strategies.
Benefits
Benefits for participants include:
- Students receive a customized learning plan based on a practice TSI exam taken on Day 1. A student’s individual learning plan focuses on the areas where a student needs the most support.
