Get ready for a summer of fun, fitness, and learning. The Strong Mind Strong Body Camp combines sports, fitness, and interactive reading activities to keep campers active and engaged. TexPREP is an exciting and challenging academic summer program for middle and high school students who are ready to explore the world of science, technology, engineering, and math. This innovative program is designed to prepare students for advanced studies through coursework, team projects, class presentations, exams, career speakers, and special events. Students will strengthen critical thinking and problem solving skills while gaining exposure to real STEM careers and college pathways. Please note there will be no classes on July 3 and July 4. In this creative and hands-on camp, students will explore the worlds of art and architecture through fun and interactive activities. Campers will start their mornings with Da Vinci’s Workshop, diving into painting and drawing, followed by an exciting Lego-based architectural building session with Athena’s Architects. After a midday break, they’ll return to Da Vinci’s Workshop for sculpture work, and end the day with a mini art showcase and clean-up. NextWaveSTEM Discovery Camp (Half-Day) offers young learners a hands-on introduction to emerging technologies in a fun, supportive environment. Designed for students entering grades 3 through 5, this camp features exciting, project-based learning with activities like building robots, designing games, and flying hand-operated drones. Campers will engage in STEM classics that foster creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking while exploring real-world applications of innovation and flight. This Dallas College Nursing Summer Camp will introduce students, ages 13-17, to the nursing profession. Students will observe and participate in simulated nursing skills and clinical scenarios. Students will hear what it's like to work as an RN from seasoned RNs. Students will hear from nursing students what it's like to be a nursing student. Clinical scenarios may include medical surgical and emergency room nursing scenarios. Simulated nursing skills may include drawing simulated blood, starting an IV on a manikin, applying EKG pads on a manikin and wound care on a manikin. "Customize your own Minecraft world and mod the classic game in this one-of-a-kind class. Learn scripting and logic statements as you create your first mods. Students will create a wide variety of new elements, gameplay mechanics, and world-generating mods to change the way you play Minecraft. Then, go well beyond the limitations of the traditional 2D game design classes and create an immersive 3D world. Students will learn the physics behind 3D games, explore beginner event scripting, level design, controlling the flow of gameplay, and storytelling.
