What would it have been like to actually experience the atomic bombing of Hiroshima? Find out at a screening of Barefoot Gen, based on the highly acclaimed manga by Hiroshima survivor Keiji Kanazawa. In this powerful animated film, Kanazawa takes us on an emotional journey from the ordinary days prior to the disaster to the post-apocalyptic anguish and despair that followed, providing us with an opportunity to view the carnage through the eyes of a child forced to deal with horrors beyond imagining.
This free screening will be accompanied by a lecture and QnA from Film faculty, John Petty.
Location: Brookhaven Campus, Bldg. C, Room C210 (Performance Hall)
