April 9th and 10th, the DC Literature and Arts Festival at Cedar Valley Campus is back! This is a two-day celebration of creativity, featuring workshops, live demonstrations, art exhibitions, and interactive classes and sessions for students, employees, and community members. Confirmed participants so far include the Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas Public Library, Books and Brown Sugar, The Writer’s Garrett, The Perot Museum and others.

The festival will run from 8a-4p with classes starting around 8:45a/9a and ending at 3. There will be musicians, vocalists and spoken word artists around campus between the N building (where the main portion of the festival is occurring) and the E building (where some of the specialized classes are occurring). There will also be artists live painting between 10a and 2p in N and potentially in E. There are two gallery walks per day, a choir performance on Thursday and the Eastfield Dance Company will be performing on one of the days. Snacks and water are being handed out on Thursday and there is a potential for swag each day. On Friday, there will be a light grazing lunch. A grazing table of breakfast will be offered each morning at 8a. We are looking forward to seeing you all there.
