Event: ECC Gallery Sempiternity Opening Day
Dallas College’s Gallery Program, part of the School of Creative Arts, Entertainment, and Design (CAED), is enthusiastic to announce Sempiternity, our annual summer exhibition, located in the H. Paxton Moore Fine Art Gallery at our El Centro Campus.
"Sempiternity" brings together a wide range of works from Dallas College El Centro campus's permanent collection into one shared exhibition space. The show highlights artworks that are normally scattered throughout the campus, giving the viewers the chance to experience them together within a gallery setting. Ranging from large-scale portrait drawings to intimate printmaking works, encompassing a wide variety of mediums in between. The exhibition showcases the diversity of the campus collection.
Featuring expressive portraiture, experimental printmaking, surreal photography, and distinctive contemporary paintings, the exhibition explores themes of identity, perception, memory, and the visual language of modern culture. Each artwork presents its own unique perspective while collectively capturing the evolving spirit of the contemporary zeitgeist.
Through bold imagery, layered narratives, and diverse artistic approaches, the body of works invites the viewer to engage with the artworks that are both deeply personal and culturally resonant. By bringing together pieces that have long existed across hallways, office rooms, and shared spaces, the exhibition offers a renewed opportunity to experience the richness of the El Centro permanent collection. The title, "Sempiternity," reflects the enduring presence of these works and their continued relevance across generations of students, faculty, and visitors alike.
Exhibitions run June 1 – July 2. Campus Galleries are open Monday – Friday, 10 am - 4 pm.
