Dallas College’s Gallery Program, part of the School of Creative Arts, Entertainment, and Design (CAED), is pleased to announce Norman Kary’s solo show The Precarious Balance, located at Mountain View’s Cliff Gallery. His show marks a return to our Mountain View Campus where he once studied art.
Norman Kary’s work delves into the socio-political and eclectic with sculptures made of found objects and handmade human figurines. Norman’s work can be found in numerous museums and private collections throughout Texas and beyond, including The Houston Museum of Fine Arts, The Noel Museum, The Austin Museum, The Bass Collection and The Barrett Collection.
Since arriving in Texas in 1977, Norman Kary has been an active member of the artistic community for over forty years. Starting as a volunteer and later serving on the Board of Directors for D-Art, an exhibition center for artists without gallery representation. Additionally, Norman has served on the board of the Emergency Artist Support League (EASL), which provides financial assistance to artists in need, and supported local artist organizations such as 500X, The McKinney Ave Contemporary (The MAC), the Dallas Sculpture Association, Texas Sculpture Group, and the Texas Visual Arts Association.
