The Dallas College Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program provides free tax preparation services to eligible students and community members while offering volunteers meaningful, hands-on experience.

This VITA Volunteer Information Session is designed for students, staff and community members who are interested in volunteering during the upcoming tax season.

During this session, we will cover:

  • What the VITA program is and who it serves
  • What VITA looks like at Dallas College
  • Volunteer roles and expectations
  • IRS certification and training requirements
  • Timeline and next steps to become a volunteer

No prior tax experience is required — training and support are provided. Whether you are looking to give back, gain professional experience or fulfill service-learning or volunteer hours, VITA offers a rewarding opportunity to serve the community.

The information session will give you a clear understanding of the certification process, training schedule and how to get started.
