Leslie Alvar​ez is pursu​​ing a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is a proud member of the Oak Cliff Scholars Program. As she stated, “My purpose in this program is to gain the knowledge that is necessary to give back to my community.”


 
 

Alexandria Johnson plans to pursue a social work degree at Prairie View A&M University as her passion is to help kids. Among her strengths include leadership skills, communication skills and professionalism. Her hobbies include dancing and doing color guard.

 
 

Jennifer Cortez Lopez graduated from Sunset High P-TECH, earning an associate degree. She is a first-generation student who is continuing her studies at the University of Texas at Arlington. She is pursuing a nursing career. Outside of school, Jennifer enjoys spending time with family and friends. She describes her support system as “amazing” and is now looking forward to the next chapter in her life.

 
 

Diana Montano is an Oak Cliff native who graduated from Sunset High P-TECH, earning an associate degree. She is a first-generation college student who plans to study criminal justice at the University of Texas at Arlington. She hopes to work for the FBI one day. Outside of school, Diana enjoys dancing, spending time with family and friends, and volunteering. She also was a member of Sunset’s drill team. Diana says she’s been blessed with people who have supported her success and, as she said, “One day, I hope to help and inspire others by guiding them to the pathway they want to pursue.”
