Skyler Campbell grew up playing the violin, but always wondered what it would be like to play the cello. That wonder went away at Dallas College when she was given the opportunity to play the cello at the Richland Campus.

Who would think something as simple as going to the grocery store, church, or shopping could end in tragedy and harm? We've all likely asked ourselves that question over the past few days. And we can't stop asking this question until change comes to pass.

The 53,000-square-foot facility will train students in information technology, health care, manufacturing, logistics, customer care and more.

Four Dallas College student news outlets received honors during the Associated Collegiate Press national convention.

The Eastfield Harvester Bees volleyball team, Brookhaven Bears women's soccer and Richland Thunderducks men's soccer each won their respective titles.

As a first-generation college student, Kidane found valuable support, leadership opportunities, and a sense of community through FOCUS and the Student Government Association, experiences that helped define his time at Dallas College.

Ava Stipe, a Dallas College Richland Campus theater student, completed a stage crew apprenticeship with the Sana Fe Opera, where she worked on several professional productions and gained hands-on technical experience. Despite the demanding and sometimes physically challenging work, the experience helped strengthen her skills, work ethic, and appreciation for the teamwork behind live theater productions.

Dallas College graduate Azan Hysn describes her experience on NBC’s hit singing show, “The Voice” Season 24. Hysn’s journey on ”The Voice” may not have happened without Dallas College. She reflects on her time at the college, taking classes on the Cedar Valley Campus and describes it as a pivotal moment in her musical career.

Asked why people should pursue a career in nursing, Vanessa Lozada had a simple message. “You will always have a job,” she said, “and you’ll never be bored.” Lozada would know. She’s worked virtually every nursing job on her road to becoming the director of emergency services at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Plano.

A ribbon-cutting on Nov. 3 will mark the opening of Bezos Academy Dallas Cockrell Hill, a tuition-free preschool located on the Mountain View Campus.

The tuition-free training is a collaboration between Dallas College and Restaurant Beatrice.

Qualonda Bennett used Dallas College to transition from an accounting career into communications, eventually earning an associate degree, a bachelor's degree and a master's degree, while advancing into a training and development-focused management role. She credits Dalals College with helping her discover a career she enjoys, while providing an affordable college experience, supportive faculty and a strong sense of community.
