Sixty years ago, the world looked very different!

In 1966, we made the first “soft landings” on the moon. “Star Trek” and “Batman” premiered on television. There were no laptops or calculators in classrooms. Students used slide rules for math and hit the library for research. Teachers made worksheets on mimeograph machines (that smell!). School lunch was only about 35 cents, candy bars were just a nickel and a movie theater ticket was about $1.25.

Fast-forward to today: Dallas College is celebrating 60 years of educating, empowering and building Dallas’ workforce while Reimagining What's Next.
