After first attending Dallas College as a dual credit student, she continued pursuing her academic goals and is now working toward a doctorate degree. Her dream is to open a trade school that equips students with valuable skills and provides the support and opportunities they need to succeed, regardless of their background.

Dallas College Students Make Their Voices Heard on Community College Day

Eighty Dallas College students, along with 14 advisors, traveled to the Texas Capitol in Austin on Feb. 3 to participate in Community College Day. With more than 900 students from across Texas attending, Dallas College had the largest delegation at the event. Students showcased the importance of community colleges and how decisions made directly affects students like them.

One night, as he was watching his two children play, LeShawn Lee knew he had to break the cycle. He, just like his dad, had not graduated high school. Fast-forward to today and Lee is now a college graduate. He finished Dallas College’s Welding Technology associate degree program in December and will walk the coveted graduation stage in May.
