(DALLAS) — Dallas College is proudly hosting Transfer Signing Day on Friday, May 2, at the West Dallas Center from 1-3 p.m., capping off a week of events designed to guide and celebrate students transferring to four-year universities.

“The Transfer Signing Day celebration highlights the dedication and determination of our students as they move forward in their educational journeys,” said Timothy McDuffie, associate dean, transfer skills development. “We’re just proud to support our students every step of the way. We look forward to working with our partner universities to ensure our transfer students are successful.”

Students transferring to institutions such as the University of North Texas, University of Texas at Arlington, Tarleton State University, Texas State University and Southern Methodist University will be recognized at the event. Representatives from these universities will be on-site to welcome the students and celebrate their academic achievements.

Dallas College is working to streamline the transfer process through initiatives such as the Dallas Transfer Collaborative and co-enrollment partnerships with Texas State University, Texas A&M and others.

The Transfer Signing Day marks the culmination of a week of Next Step Celebration workshops held across all Dallas College campuses. These sessions were designed to help students prepare for life after community college, whether they are continuing their education or entering the workforce. The first 300 students who sign up and go to these events receive a free cap and gown.
