Begin your Texas A&M University engineering degree at Dallas College!

You'll be a Texas A&M Aggie right from the beginning of your college career. Students admitted to the Texas A&M Engineering Academy are co-enrolled at Texas A&M University in the College of Engineering and at Dallas College.

Take engineering classes from Texas A&M faculty at the Dallas College Brookhaven Campus and take core curriculum courses at any of the Dallas College campuses. After one or two years, complete a bachelor’s degree at Texas A&M in one of more than 20 engineering majors.

Why Should I Enroll in the Engineering Academy?

It saves you money!

You can save up to $4,000 per semester, compared to taking 15 credit hours at Texas A&M — helping you graduate with less debt.

First-choice engineering major

By earning a minimum 3.75 cumulative GPA (CPA) at both institutions, you can get automatic admission to your first-choice engineering major at the end of your second semester.

Engineers are in high demand

The Texas Workforce Commission projects a need for 53,000 more engineers by 2024.

Smaller student-faculty ratios

You’ll enjoy smaller student-faculty ratios in math and science courses, which build the foundation in engineering.

“The Texas A&M Engineering Academy was one of the best decisions I could have made in my college career. From day one Academy students are Aggies while being taught engineering classes by an A&M professor at Dallas College. This pathway saved me a large amount on tuition and housing as I lived at home for a year and a half while taking the necessary core classes at Dallas College at a cheaper cost. The transition from the Engineering Academy at Dallas College to Texas A&M was very smooth due to the help of my advisors and professors, making my time at A&M even better!”
