Enroll in College With Your Child – for Free

If you’re a parent or guardian of a high school senior from a Dallas County Promise school, you may be eligible to earn a degree at no cost to you!

The Dallas College Parent Promise Scholarship covers the cost of tuition at Dallas College for students with demonstrated financial need.  Family income limits may apply.

Choose from 100+ degree or certificate programs, including GED and ESL.

New Parent Promise Students: Eligibility and How To Apply

Have a high school senior graduating in 2026?

The Path Form and application will open soon for parents of class of 2026 high school graduates. Family income limits may apply.  Beginning Fall 2026, eligible parents must also demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA or TASFA.    

  1. Submit the Parent Promise Path Form by July 1. 
  2. Apply to Dallas College by July 1.
  3. Submit the Dallas College Admissions Application.  
  4. Apply for Financial Aid by July 1. (Priority Deadline)
  5. Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at FAFSA.gov or Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) and list Dallas College as a recipient of your application. (School code: 004453)  
    1. Eligibility requires financial need as determined via the  FAFSA or TASFA.  
    2. All action items, verification, and additional document requests must be completed no later than 10 days before the start of the term.  
    3. Be degree seeking at Dallas College, select an eligible Primary Program of Study and Enroll in classes within that Primary Program of Study by Aug. 19, 2026  
      1. Students may also enroll in the second 8 week session within the Fall Semester by Oct. 19
