Get Familiar With the eConnect Financial Aid Checklist

​​​​​​Did you know you can see and follow the steps to completing your financial aid file in eConnect?

The eConnect financial aid checklist shows you at a glance what steps you have completed in the process and what steps you still need to take. All you need to do is log in to eConnect to view a checklist of items necessary to complete your financial aid file.

Here is a typical listing of checklist items and their descriptions:

Checklist Item No. 1: Submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

This is marked complete when a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or institutional application (like a Texas Application for State Financial Aid or TASFA) has been completed.

Checklist Item No. 2: Complete required documents

This is marked complete when you have submitted required documents to the Financial Aid Office that are necessary for processing and evaluating funding.

Don’t worry — you can see the details of what you need to submit in your eConnect account in this checklist item. You will also be able to see when you submitted these documents for processing.

Checklist Item No. 3: Your application is being reviewed by the Financial Aid Office

This is marked complete when you have selected a primary program of study (PPOS). You do not need to reselect a PPOS if you have one on file already.

During this phase, be sure you have previous college transcripts on file and evaluated by Dallas College.

Checklist Item No. 4: Review and accept your financial aid award package

This is marked complete when you have managed each of your awards in your file. This means, in this section, you could have the option to accept, decline and/or adjust eligible awards.

If you are packaged with Federal Direct Loan awards, you will receive two additional checklist items to complete: a Master Promissory Note and/or loan entrance counseling. Both of these are done online and must be completed before loan money can be sent to you.

Checklist Item No. 5: Review and sign your financial aid award letter

This is marked complete when you have reviewed and signed your award letter. You cannot complete this checklist item until you have successfully completed checklist item No. 4.

As a reminder, eligible funds will not transmit to your account until your award letter is signed. Sometimes awards are added after the semester begins. Check this item often to see if you need to manage other awards.

Once all checklist items have been completed, eligible funds are disbursed. Don’t forget to set up how you want to receive your funds.

On your checklist, you are encouraged to visit the resource links and review your loan history amounts and Pell Grant use am​ounts.
