How To Apply for Work-Study

  1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid online or submit an online Texas Application for State Financial Aid. (A paper version of the TASFA in Spanish is also available.)
  2. Log in to eConnect to determine the status of your financial aid file. Under the Financial Aid section:
    • Check the FA Checklist link to make sure there is no missing information/documentation you need to submit to the Financial Aid Office.
    • Check My Financial Aid Status to see if you meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress standards.
    • Check My Program of Study to make sure you have selected a primary program of study.
    • Click on the eRefunds link to sign up for direct deposit of any refunds or disbursements you may be owed or to confirm that you would like to receive paper checks. Learn more about eRefunds.
  3. Register for at least six hours (Fall/Spring) or one hour (Summer) and pay the tuition if you don’t have any other financial aid. You can set up a payment plan online through eConnect or in person at the Cashier's Office
  4. Prepare your resume. If you need resume assistance, call 972-669-6400, email or schedule an appointment to meet with someone in the Career Development Services Office.
  5. To view available work-study positions, click on the Jobs tab and select the On Campus Student Employment option under the Job Type filter.
