Together We Read
One College. One Book. One Shared Experience.
Together We Read is a Dallas College Learning Commons initiative designed to bring our college community together through the shared experience of reading.
Throughout the initiative, students, faculty and staff are invited to read the same selected book and participate in conversations, activities and events inspired by its themes. By creating opportunities to read, reflect and connect, Together We Read encourages meaningful conversations and shared experiences across Dallas College.
Whether you enjoy reading, want to explore a new perspective or simply want to connect with members of the Dallas College community, there is an opportunity for you to get involved.
Our Current Book:
The Midnight Library by Matt Haig
What if you could explore the lives you might have lived?
Matt Haig's The Midnight Library follows Nora Seed, a woman who finds herself in a mysterious library between life and death. Each book in the library offers her the opportunity to experience a different version of her life, each one shaped by different choices and possibilities.
As Nora explores these alternate lives, she begins to consider questions about regret, identity, relationships, purpose, possibility and what makes a life worth living.
Through Together We Read, the Dallas College community will explore these themes together and consider how they connect to our own experiences, choices and aspirations.
