Placement Testing: World Language

Welcome to World Language Placement Testing

We have two placement options available:

  1. WebCAPE placement exams for Spanish and French are administered at the Dallas College Testing Centers.
  2. Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, Korean, German, Russian, and Italian exams are administered using the in-house online testing. Students will need to contact their success coach to receive the in-house placement exam referral.

IMPORTANT: Taking a placement exam will not give you course credit. It will only determine the level of your language skills to place you into the correct Dallas College course.

If you want to receive credit for your language knowledge, take the CLEP. You can find more information about this exam by visiting the CLEP website. A fee is required.
