Bachelor of Science in Nursing - RN to BSN Track
When you choose Dallas College’s online RN-BSN program, you can pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing online while keeping your schedule flexible.

- Dallas County residents can complete their RN-BSN for $2,970, with books and learning materials included.
- Texas residents not residing in Dallas County can complete their RN-BSN for $5,070.
- Out-of-state/out-of-country residents can complete their RN-BSN for $7,500.
- Fast-track or part-time: Set your own schedule. Progress from an associate degree to RN-BSN status within a condensed timeline of 12 months through focused study, or take the part-time track of 24 months to achieve your RN-BSN

Application Process
- Step 1: Apply for admission to Dallas College.
- Step 2: Submit your application for the RN-BSN program. You must provide proof of conferred degree from an accredited Associate Degree Nursing program and provide proof of an unencumbered RN license number in the U.S.
- Step 3: Complete admission requirements.
- View the RN to BSN Nursing Info Session (PPSX - 14MB) (optional).
- Submit official transcripts (see RN to BSN Information Packet) from all colleges and universities attended to demonstrate completion of at least 90 credit hours, including:
- Minimum GPA of 2.0.
- Provide evidence of a conferred Associate of Science degree in nursing from an accredited program of nursing — National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
- Provide evidence of completion of the 42-hour Texas core curriculum.
- Hold a current, unencumbered license as a registered nurse in the United States with proof of unencumbered current U.S. license. Documentation must be submitted before coursework starts.
- An applicant waiting to take the NCLEX-RN may be conditionally admitted. Conditionally admitted applicants must pass the NCLEX before starting RN-BSN curriculum course work.
- Complete the interest form to determine if you meet criteria. This is not the same as the application. Please note: A senior success coach will contact you within two business days to review your next admissions steps.
- Submit a professional reference from a nursing supervisor/manager to RNtoBSNProgram@DallasCollege.edu.
- Upon acceptance:
- Review the general Dallas College New Student Orientation video. Complete and submit a certificate of completion. You must upload this documentation to CastleBranch.
- Submit complete documentation of a current acceptable background check, urine drug test, physical exam, tuberculosis screening, required immunizations, health insurance and CPR certification. You must upload this documentation to CastleBranch. Urine drug test and criminal background must be acceptable to advance through the program.
Admission Deadlines
The application is open year-round. However, to start in your desired semester, you should have your application submitted by one of the following dates:
- Spring semester due by: Nov. 1
- Summer semester due by: April 1
- Fall semester due by: June 1
Core Curriculum
Students must be Texas core-complete before beginning the RN-BSN program. During the application period, students who need to sit for the NCLEX are allowable. Admission to the RN-BSN program is conditional upon the successful completion of the core courses and having an unencumbered Texas license.

Dallas College Nursing Grant Opportunities
We are proud to be the recipient of a $2.5 million grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to support our nursing students and help meet the growing demand for qualified nurses in North Texas. Whether you're pursuing an Associate Degree in Nursing (AAS) or planning to continue into our RN to BSN program, this grant opens doors to meaningful financial and academic support.
What is available through the HRSA grant:
- Scholarships based on credit hours
- $350 semester stipend for supplies and living expenses
- RN to BSN Scholarships for continuing students
- Free access to exam prep and licensure support
- Laptops provided for use throughout the program
