Student Leadership Awards and Sneaker Ball
The Student Leadership Awards and Sneaker Ball is a celebratory event designed to recognize and honor the achievements and contributions of students on all seven Dallas College campuses.
Fall Leadership Resiliency Conference
This conference is open to all Dallas College students—whether you've never considered yourself a leader or you're already involved in student organizations. Leadership is a journey, and every student has a place on the path. Discover your leadership potential by identifying your strengths, values, and unique leadership style. Build resilience by learning practical strategies to overcome obstacles, adapt to change, and thrive through challenges. Develop leadership skills through interactive sessions focused on communication, teamwork, decision-making, and problem-solving. Connect with your community by networking with fellow students, campus leaders, faculty, and staff from across Dallas College. Create your leadership plan by leaving with practical next steps for your continued leadership journey.
Student Leadership Development Co-Curricular Courses
- Becoming a Student Leader: Whether you're new to leadership or ready to take your skills to the next level, our co-curricular course will help you develop confidence, knowledge, and experience to transform your potential to life-long success.
- Entrepreneurial Philanthropy in Action: This co-curricular course builds upon the leadership foundation established in Becoming a Student Leader by taking the Lead Self, Lead Others, and Lead Change framework from theory to practice.
Summer Leadership Retreat
This event is designed to enhance student retention, participation, development, and growth. Our goal is to cultivate emerging student leaders, equipping them with the essential skills needed for future leadership roles and workforce readiness. The conference will be conducted in a workshop format over three days, featuring live educational sessions. Registration is required and open to all Dallas College credit and non-credit students.
Student leaders are selected from an application process within the 7 Dallas College campuses. Student ambassadors complete one semester of the Student Leadership Institute and exhibit leadership capabilities within their respective campuses. They serve as a guide within the OSLE office. They also get to travel to different conferences on professional development, communication and leadership skills.
Speaker Series Fall and Spring
Three-part professional development experience is designed to equip students with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills needed to lead in college, career, and beyond. Through interactive workshops, professional speakers, exploration activities, and hands-on team-building experiences, students will strengthen communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and professional readiness. Each session provides real-world learning opportunities that help students build leadership competencies, expand career awareness, and develop the confidence to make an impact in their future workplaces and communities.
