VITA is available during days, evenings and weekends to ensure flexibility for your busy schedule.
Who’s Eligible
The VITA program is designed to support:
- Individuals and families earning $68,675 or less
- Persons with disabilities
- Taxpayers with limited English proficiency
What VITA Offers
- Free tax preparation and filing assistance
- IRS-certified volunteers
- Flexible hours — including evening and weekend appointments
- Languages available: English and Spanish
VITA Locations
There are over 50 VITA sites across the DFW metroplex, many accessible by DART. The VITA program is also available at several Dallas College locations including:
- Eastfield Campus
- Garland Center
- Mountain View Campus
- Pleasant Grove Center
- West Dallas Center
What to Bring
Income Documents
- Form W-2s — Wage and Tax Statement
- Form 1099s — Interest Income (1099-INT), Unemployment
- Compensation (1099-G), Miscellaneous Income (1099-MISC), Dividend Income (1099-DIV), Retirement Plan Distribution (1099-R) and Cancellation of Debt (Form 1099-C)
Education Expenses
- Form 1098 T — Tuition Statement
- Form 1098 E — Student Loan Interest Statement
- Child and dependent care expenses
Identification
- Social Security cards or ITIN letters for everyone on the tax return
- Photo ID for tax filers
Health Care
- Form 1095-A, Form 1095-B or a Health Insurance Marketplace exemption certificate

Interested in giving back? Complete volunteer training (by end of January 2026) and volunteer during the Spring 2026 semester at one of the Dallas College VITA sites.
