Kertrum Dominique Cobbins

“I earned a bachelor's degree from East Texas A&M University in 2001. Soon after, I enrolled in real estate pre-licensing courses at Cedar Valley. By November, I was an active real estate sales professional.

“Dallas College was a great choice, and I recommend it to everyone who wants to get a real estate education. They had the schedule I needed. I had to be able to work and attend classes without burning myself out.

“The instructors were great and gave me more than what was in the textbook. I still reflect on their advice today, not just in real estate — but in life. With their stories and my observation, I decided to become a real estate broker and educator. I believe these two positions will keep me relevant in the industry."

Kertrum Dominique Cobbins has been a real estate professional since 2001. He got started in real estate by helping his mother with her real estate business. She initially pushed him to get more involved in the industry. Currently, Cobbins is a vice president and managing broker - Texas for Morris Williams Realty.

He holds a Texas real estate brokers license in addition to a Bachelor of Science degree from East Texas A&M University. His broad sales management experience includes mortgage lending.

“With my travel schedule it’s really hard to be in a classroom, and even when I’m in town my work hours are erratic. The strong point of taking courses online is the flexibility and freedom. I can just log on and do my homework at home or on the road in a hotel.”
