Student Experience: Prayuth Phang, RT(R)

“I made the right decision to enroll at Dallas College and achieve a degree in Radiologic Sciences. Since I came to this country from Cambodia I have always wanted to be successful and have a better life.

“It’s true that the U.S. is the country of opportunity. I like bones, so I chose radiology to be my career goal. It’s what I like to do, and it’s what I can do to serve and help people in my community — and what I can give back to the country.

“Throughout the program, I got a lot of help from my instructors, friends and school. The instructors cared so much about our success and did everything they could to help us succeed. They were the best instructors I have ever seen. My classmates became my friends, and we helped each other with all of our studies and practices. 

“The school provided financial aid and scholarship, which helped me survive during the program. Now, with this degree, I have a stable career and can make a good living. It has changed my life completely for the better. I am an educated person and a professional who has learned to be a good technologist and how to save lives with my skills. 

“Dallas College has a lot of programs for people who want to have a better life with education. I strongly recommend other students to join this program — they have the best teachers who really care about their students, as well as financial help available. I love what I’m doing, and I will continue doing it to serve people.” 

Prayuth Phang earned two associate degrees: an Associate in Applied Arts and Sciences degree and a Radiologic Sciences degree. He works as a radiologic technologist for Community Portable X-ray Inc., traveling around the metroplex to conduct X-rays for nursing homes in the Lewisville, Carrollton, Frisco and Plano areas. He is credentialed as a registered radiologic technologist.
