Student Experience: Sharon Daniels-Megginson

Real Estate Broker and CEO Sharon Daniels Properties and Real Estate Specialist and Adjunct Faculty  “I was working on my real estate broker education hours and had also always wanted to further my college education, so I decided to achieve two goals at one time. The best part of my experience was that I was able to complete most of my coursework online and was able to continue to work in my previous career while I got my real estate education.

“I was also able to apply for my real estate license exam with my associate degree. I make it my goal to tell other students, real estate agents and everyone I meet in the real estate field about furthering their education and obtaining a degree at the same time.”

As a real estate broker and CEO of Sharon Daniels Properties, Sharon Daniels-Megginson operates her own real estate office, overseeing real estate transactions, selling real estate and renting properties. An adjunct faculty member of the Real Estate program, she also serves as the program’s real estate specialist, providing administrative support.

She holds Texas real estate sales and broker’s licenses and is a member of MetroTex Association of Realtors, the Texas Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. She earned an associate degree in Real Estate.

“My experience was really good; I learned a lot about different types of loans, underwriting and loan origination. The program gave us a broad overview from the get-go. I didn’t have any previous experience in mortgage banking at all, so it really helped me to prepare for changing jobs into the industry.”

“The most important thing I learned in my education was a sense of accomplishment and purpose, and that nothing is impossible as long as I am willing to expend the effort to reach my goals. I have been promoted a number of times in recent years, into positions of more and more responsibility as a direct result of my education.”
