A Look Inside Dance

I think that a lot of people don't realize the beautiful dance program that's available here at Dallas College. And I came to get exercise to be able to have a creative outlet.

Being here really helped me open my eyes into what the dance field could do for you. Most of the time we have misconceptions about not truly knowing that the dance can be a career or how to get to the point where it can be a career. And I feel like here at Dallas College they really gave you those tools. Dallas College is helping me tremendously continue my dance career after high school. It's opened many doors into many different styles of dance that I've yet to learn.

And many more that I'm very excited to learn since I feel like it's an experience, just taking new experiences. That's that's one of my biggest goals before I came to college, just trying new things. Since you're just working and going to school, it's just find new hobbies, see what you like to do. And I'm actually really enjoying this, like I actually would sign up again next year for it. That's how much I like it.

A lot of people talk about emotionally and socially being like taking care of yourself, and without knowing it, I feel like this class does that.

Dance is a language. It's it's the same as if you were learning French or English. It's just another way of expression. And when your body language is able to go to another dimension and to open up space to movements that you've never done, it's very liberating.
1:42 Isaiah Nelson – Dance Student
It's really interesting because you get to have knowledge from all different aspects of life. People of all different ages and different backgrounds come to dance here as well. So you get to learn a little bit from each about them and take that story with you to the next. Think of your life so it's really it's really awesome.
1:56 Tiffany Frame – Dance Student
You can have a beginner and expert in the same class and we all dance together and there's no judgment. You can be yourself and you're not worried about what anybody else is thinking, and you're truly just working on your inner self.

All of us had to start somewhere, and this is such a great learning environment and such a beautiful opportunity to learn something new if you haven't done it before. If you have done it before, it's a great way to grow in your skills and a chance to use. What you have and to pick up more along the way.
