Course Waitlists
New for Summer and Fall 2026: Join a waitlist if the class you want is full. This new feature helps ensure that available seats are offered fairly and efficiently to students.
How It Works:
- Join the waitlist from the View Course Section page during registration in Workday (if the course has a waitlist).* View a tutorial on joining a waitlist (login required).
- If a seat becomes available, you will be notified through Workday and your Dallas College email.
- You will have 24 hours to accept the seat, so it is important to check your notifications regularly.
- If you respond within 24 hours, you will be added to the course, but you must drop any duplicate sections of the same course.
- If you do not respond in time, you will be removed from the waitlist and must rejoin if the list has spots available.
We recommend registering for a backup course while you are on a waitlist.
*Important Notes
- Waitlists cap at 10 students. The waitlist option will not appear on courses with lists at capacity.
- Waitlists close two days before classes start.
- Waitlists are not available for some courses with controlled registration.
- You can join multiple waitlists.
