WorkReadyU (WRU) is part of Dallas College’s Career-Connected Learning initiative—designed to help you gain the knowledge, confidence, and credentials needed to succeed in today’s workforce.

Am I Eligible?

Initial WorkReadyU Eligibility Requirements*:

  • Have valid Photo ID
  • Do not have a bachelor’s or advanced degree in the United States
  • Resident of Dallas County
  • If you are under age 18, parent/guardian and other documentation is needed.

These requirements apply to the Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) grant. Additional requirements may be identified during the registration and admissions process to determine your final eligibility.

While the AEL grant is the first funding option considered at Dallas College, it is not the only one available. You may also be considered for other grants, which may include, but are not limited to:

  • Bank of America Jobs Initiative Grant
  • Innovation Strategies One Workforce (ISOW)
  • Dallas College Young Adults (Opportunity Youth, WIOA)
  • Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF)
  • UPS Grant
  • United Way

To begin the process, you must complete the Workforce & Continuing Education Interest Form and initiate the WorkReadyU application process, which involves additional steps beyond submitting the initial form.

* Program offerings and services may change depending on the availability of grant funding provided by federal, state, and other funding entities. We do our best to keep everything running smoothly, but some opportunities may vary from year to year based on funding.
