Meet Your 2026-2027 Student Government Association Leaders

As a new academic year begins, Dallas College is excited to introduce the 2026-2027 Student Government Association (SGA) Executive Board Officers, including our inaugural Online Campus Executive Board. 

Whether they attend classes in person or online, these student leaders share a common goal: strengthening connections, elevating student voices and fostering a community where every student feels welcomed, supported and empowered to succeed. 

“This position represents an opportunity to serve, advocate for students and help strengthen our campus community,” said Isabel Hernandez, Mountain View Campus SGA president. “It’s about listening to different perspectives, building meaningful partnerships and turning ideas into action that creates lasting opportunities and a strong sense of community for everyone on campus.” 

This year marks an important milestone for student representation. Leading the first-ever Online Campus SGA, President Lilianna Mercado is focused on ensuring online students have a seat at the table and a voice in campus conversations. 
 
“Every student deserves a voice, whether they're on campus or online,” Mercado said. “As a full-time student working two jobs, I'm proud to represent students who can't always be on campus but still deserve to be heard.” 

Across Dallas College, other campus leaders share a similar commitment to building a more connected college experience. 

“I'm most looking forward to helping create a campus environment where every student feels seen, heard and valued,” said Amblessed Okwu, El Centro Campus SGA president. “I want every student to know they are not alone, that they belong here and that they have the ability to make a difference in our campus community.” 

For Eastfield Campus SGA President Gabriela Morales, the year ahead is an opportunity to strengthen campus connections and ensure students feel engaged in the life of the college.  

“This year, I'm looking forward to bringing students together through meaningful events, building stronger partnerships across campus, and creating opportunities that encourage every student to get involved. My goal is for students to know that SGA is approachable, engaged and truly working to make their college experience better.” 

As the year gets underway, these student leaders are ready to listen, advocate and create opportunities that help every student thrive.
