How Do I Get My Loan?
How do I get a Federal Direct Loan for this academic year?
- Apply to Dallas College.
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Access Workday Student
- Dallas College uses Workday Student for financial aid processing. Log in at DallasCollege.edu/Workday. After logging in to Workday Student:
- Select Menu > Financial Aid
- Review your Financial Aid Action Items to ensure no documents or additional information are required.
- Review your Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) status.
- Confirm your Primary Program of Study under Academics > Program of Study.
- You must:
- Be enrolled in an eligible program
- Meet SAP standards
- Have no outstanding financial aid requirements
- Complete Federal Loan Requirements
- Log in to: https://studentaid.gov
- Using your FSA ID, complete the following:
- Loan Entrance Counseling (Read all sections carefully. This explains loan types, interest rates, repayment terms, consolidation, and borrower responsibilities.)
- Master Promissory Note (MPN)
- Electronically sign your agreement to repay your loan.
- Enroll at Least Half-Time
- You must be enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours (half-time status) in an eligible program.
- Accept Your Loan in Workday
- Once your financial aid award notification is received:
- Log in to Workday Student
- Select Financial Aid
- Navigate to Awards
- Review and Accept, Decline, or Adjust your Federal Direct Loan amount
- Review and electronically accept the Terms and Conditions of your award package
- Students may reduce or decline their loan within Workday before funds are disbursed.
- Once your financial aid award notification is received:
Note: You may also decline or adjust the amount of your Federal Direct Loan on Workday. Log in to Workday. Loans will not disburse until all requirements are completed. You must maintain half-time enrollment. You must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress standards. Disbursement timelines follow Dallas College financial aid certification schedules.
