Your career doesn't have to begin after graduation.
The NEXT (Network, Explore, eXchange, Together) Mentorship Program connects selected Dallas College students with experienced industry professionals who can offer real-world insight, guidance and connections as students prepare for their careers.
Through an academic year of mentorship, you'll have an opportunity to explore your career interests, expand your professional network and learn what it takes to enter and succeed in your field.

Who Should Apply?
NEXT is designed for currently enrolled Dallas College students who are ready to take the next step in their professional development. The program is open to students enrolled in all programs of study. In years past, NEXT has been especially popular with students pursuing Business or Hospitality certificates and degrees.
Applicants must:
- Be currently enrolled at Dallas College.
- Be 18 or older.
- Have their own transportation to meet with their mentor.
- Not be enrolled as a dual credit or Early College High School student.
What To Expect
Only 20 students are selected to participate in NEXT each year.
The application includes a video response. After applications are reviewed, all applicants will be notified whether they have been selected.
Selected students will be matched with an industry mentor for the academic year and will have access to a dedicated online space for program resources and mentor-mentee engagement.

2026-2027 NEXT applications are open through Oct. 9, 2026.
Students with approximately 30 or more credit hours are highly encouraged to apply. Students who are already engaged in campus organizations, athletics, leadership or other activities and are ready for an additional professional development opportunity may be especially well suited for the program.
